Thank you for your cooperation with our copyright policy. We work very hard to offer a large amount of free resources to people to support our mission to restore the foundation of society – marriages. This is our/the authors’ intellectual property, and we ask that you value and respect that. We ask that you honor our guidelines, which are set up to protect this ministry that the Lord has entrusted in our care.

While we try to offer many of our resources for free, for sustainability purposes of our organization, not all are. We try to keep our rates and costs as low as possible to ensure that as many people as possible have access to and can benefit from our services. Every dollar that comes into our organization (donations or fees) goes directly back into the ministry, which is what sets us apart as a nonprofit organization.

Therapy

Our goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and confidential environment for your therapeutic experience. Our approach to therapy is a partnership where we are facilitators of change. Through psychoeducation, tools, research, and offering an outside perspective, we assist you in making the changes you are working toward. Our first session is a time of assessment during which we gain a better understanding of you and your needs. Together we outline what your goals for treatment are and a plan of action to help you achieve those goals. The duration of treatment depends on the presenting problem.
Confidentiality means all communication between you and your therapist will remain between the two of you as defined in your consent for treatment. Instances where your therapist is required by law to disclose information is when there are cases of child abuse or neglect, imminent threat of harm to self or others, elder abuse, or if we are court ordered to do so. Otherwise, information about you or your treatment can only be released by written consent.
Licensed professionals are highly trained individuals who have had to receive at least a Master’s Degree level of education, met requirements for their state licensure, and have legal and ethical oversight and accountability to maintain the highest level of integrity and experience in caring for clients. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) in the state of North Carolina have, in addition to their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, undergone passing a National Marriage and Family Therapy Examination, 1,500 clinical hours of face-to-face client work while receiving 200 hours of supervision from an AAMFT (American Association of Marriage & Family Therapy) approved supervisor that is licensed as an MFT. In addition, LMFTs are required to complete Continuing Education courses annually and keep their license current. This education, training, experience, and oversight are all essential components to being able to provide people the care they need with the latest clinical interventions supported by research. It is our belief that anyone identifying themselves as a counselor, therapist, or mental health professional should do so only after taking the appropriate steps to become licensed to ensure proper, professional, appropriate, and quality care for those seeking such help.
We work with individuals (young adults and older), couples (premarital and married), and families. Some of our areas of expertise include but aren’t limited to: Marriage Enrichment, Marriage Issues, Premarital Preparation, Recovery from Infidelity/Sexual Betrayal, Spiritual Formation, Depression, Anxiety, Grief/Loss, Adjustment, Identity/Self-Esteem, Communication, and Ministry Leader Support.
Payment is due at the time of services. We accept cash (please bring exact amount as change is not available), checks (made payable to Foundation Restoration), or debit/credit cards. We offer reduced rates from industry standard. More deeply reduced rates are offered but they are on a need-basis and require an application process. Contact us for more information about that process.
We are an in network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. If you are seeking insurance reimbursement, we encourage you to call your insurance company and determine your benefits. We will need your insurance information prior to the first session, and you will need to bring your insurance card and ID with you to the first session so we can keep a copy on file. For insurances other than BCBS, you will need to check your benefits for out of network providers. We will provide billing summaries with the required information for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement upon  request. Please note that in order for insurance to be utilized, clients must meet criteria for a diagnosis. If you do not wish to have a diagnosis or do not meet the criteria for a diagnosis, then you will need to plan on paying out of pocket for services.
No. Licensed marriage and family therapists, counselors, and psychologists are not physicians, so we are not able to prescribe medication. If you and your therapist think that assessment for medication is advisable, we will help to refer you to a Psychiatrist, or provide clinical documentation/recommendations to your existing medical practitioner to support such a decision.  Please note that a release of information (ROI) is needed for any third party with whom you would like your information shared.  Please inform your therapist of any medications you may currently be taking during your first session.
